About the course

The body must last for many years and how you treat it does matter in the end. There is an old proverb that reads 'You reap what you have sown'. Far too many strain their body, joints and muscles throughout life in the wrong ways, which in the long term will reduce the quality of life. The manual handling course focuses on this topic and provides knowledge and tools for prevention and recognition of the problems.


Objectives:


  • The student is able to demonstrate an understanding of the importance of performing work tasks in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the legislative requirements of their geographic location.


  • The student is able to identify aspects of their work tasks that may increase a worker's risk of developing musculoskeletal injuries.


  • The student is able to demonstrate an understanding of safe manual handling practices, including proper handling of equipment.


  • The student is able to identify signs and symptoms of injuries associated with poor manual handling techniques and has knowledge of reporting methods.


  • The student is able to demonstrate a problem-solving approach to manual handling in his daily work.


  • The student is able to demonstrate proper manual handling.
