About the course

Accidents, illness and injury can happen anywhere and it is not always possible to just call and let others carry out the rescue task. If the accident happens in a wind turbine blade 144 meters above the ground, it is not easy to get the person out and down to the ground to the waiting Ambulance, or up and out to the roof for rescue by helicopter. We review principles and equipment for rescuing and moving an injured person in a wind turbine and how important coordination and cooperation are in a crisis situation. The practical training takes place in our training mill as well as one of the 3 Vestas V126 we have next to the course centre.

Objectives:

Advanced Rescue Training must enable the trainees to perform rescue operations of injured persons in a wind turbine, using standard industry rescue equipment, rescue methods and techniques that exceed those used in the Working At Heights course.
